Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf Cup
DRFC Girls’ and Women’s Touch Rugby Tournament
Doha Rugby Football Centre is excited to announce the upcoming Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf Cup,
the first touch rugby tournament of its kind in Qatar for girls and women.
DRFC is passionate about supporting the development and growth of women’s rugby at
both youth and senior levels. This inaugural tournament aims to bring together teams from
Qatar and across the GCC region for a day of competitive but friendly rugby.
The basics
Date: Friday 3rd May, 2024
Timing: 4pm to 8pm
Location: Doha Sports Park, Doha, Qatar
What’s the playing format?
– Each side to have a balanced mix of girls (under 16 years) and women (16 years and over)
– Suggested minimum age of 12 years old – it is up to the coaches’ discretion to decide the ability of girls to play in a mixed age tournament
– Standard touch rules- Half pitch matches
– 6 a-side, with squads of approximately 10
-Rolling subs
-7 mins a half, 2 mins half time
Clubs entering more than one team are asked to select evenly matched teams,
rather than 1st , 2nd , 3rd teams, for example
Leagues/knockout format to be confirmed once the number of teams is finalized.
How to enter your team
To submit your interest in entering a team for the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf Cup, please
email ralphqatar681@gmail.com with the following details:
– Name of club
– Number of teams entering
– Rough split of girls/women
If you do not have enough players for a whole squad, no problem! We will help with
additional players to make up a full squad or mix your players throughout other teams.
Disclaimer: Confirmation of entry into the tournament includes absolving DRFC of any
liability for any injuries that occur during the tournament and also confirms that by
expressing an interest to participate, your club will ensure that all participants have
adequate medical insurance.
