Women’s Rugby at DRFC
Our women’s rugby program includes both a senior Ladies team and a youth team (ages 13-17). We are dedicated to growing the women’s game locally, starting with a pathway for our younger players to transition directly to the senior team at 17, along with plenty of opportunities to compete for both teams.
Our teams are made up of a diverse group of women and girls. Whether you have extensive rugby experience or none at all, you will be warmly welcomed – all you need is a willingness to learn, some basic fitness, and a good sense of humor. All training sessions are conducted in a fun and safe environment with our experienced coaches.
The senior Ladies team plays full-contact rugby but also offers non-contact playing opportunities – although we encourage all new players to learn full contact. The team competes locally, around the Gulf—including Dubai 7s—and overseas in places like Sri Lanka and the UK. The Doha Ladies pride themselves on team spirit and enjoy frequent social events throughout the year – both on and off the pitch.
Our youth team encourages players to continue with rugby as they transition from mixed youth rugby at age 13. They participate in a mix of full-contact and touch/tag rugby competitions, offering players a chance to develop their skills in both formats. Additionally, they have the opportunity to learn from the senior team through occasional joint training sessions.
We are always looking for new members, so please get in touch if you are interested in joining or have any questions.
Sundays and Tuesdays at 6pm – 7pm
To train and play with the Ladies team you will need a playing membership.
New members can attend for the first 4 training sessions for free before committing to membership for the season.
