King’s College Doha proudly supported the 50th Anniversary celebrations of the Doha
Rugby Football Club as the official sponsor of the Mini and Youth Cup, now named the
inaugural King’s College Doha Cup. The event, held at the Doha Sports Park on Friday
15th and Saturday 16th November, welcomed over 400 young rugby players from Doha
and across the GCC, showcasing the region’s passion for rugby and the value of
teamwork, sportsmanship, and community spirit.
The highlight of the day was the medal ceremony, where every participating child
received a medal of recognition, generously sponsored by King’s College Doha. The
medals symbolized not only participation but the club’s and King’s College Doha’s
shared commitment to fostering young talent and promoting inclusivity in sports.
“At King’s College Doha, we believe in nurturing future leaders both in the classroom
and on the sports field,” said Kate Jackon, Principal at King’s College Doha. “We are
thrilled to sponsor the Mini and Youth Cup and to see such enthusiasm, skill, and
camaraderie among the children. The King’s College Doha Cup is a true celebration of
community and youth development and it was especially rewarding to see so many
King’s College Doha pupils participating”.
The event featured thrilling matches, fun-filled activities for families, and opportunities
for young players to engage with peers from diverse cultural backgrounds. The
anniversary celebrations served as a testament to Doha Rugby Club’s legacy as a
cornerstone of Rugby in Qatar and a uniting force for sports enthusiasts of all ages.
